Last summer I had the greatest opportunity to travel back out to Rhode Island to photograph one of my best friends weddings and bring my new baby girl along with me for them all to meet. Lis, Jeff and I met 10 years ago now when we were all super young and madly in love and spent the whole summer hanging out as couples sitting in the sun next to the ocean drinking vodka with Dels Lemonade. It was one of the best summers of my life. Lis and Jeff never stopped being madly in love and never stopped living those romantic Rhode Island summers that only seem real in the movies. And their wedding was the epitome of that. A perfect, sunny and warm summer day, outside, oceanside, with beautiful golden light beaming through the pavilion, and the oceans breeze blowing everyones hair and dresses in the salty wind on the dance floor. I don't know if I looked as fabulous as I felt, but I’ll never forget tearing it up to Dancing Queen with my hair and dress blowing in the wind with all of my best friends. It seriously didn’t feel real and one of the happiest moments of my life was in that moment.
These two are the definition of a relationship with a back bone. I don’t think in my entire adult life I’ve ever met a couple quite like them. They are so loyal to each other and you can just sense the fierceness of their romance every time you’re around them. I could go on and on and on and on about these two, but instead I’ll leave you with these images from their wedding day. And if you notice me in some of the photos, its because I made my husband be my second shooter for an hour.
